Japanese architecture, Nagoya City Hall

Tue, October 4, 2011, by Muza-chan

Close to the Nagoya Castle you can admire the Nagoya City Hall, a building from 1933, built to commemorate the coronation of the Emperor. Registered as a Tangible Cultural Property of Japan, the Nagoya City Hall represents a unique architectural mix between the traditional Japanese architecture and the modern style. The intention of the builders was to create harmony with the nearby Nagoya Castle…

If you’re interested in architecture, I’m sure this building will not leave you indifferent, especially the clock tower which takes the form of a two-story yagura…
