Today, I would just like to show you a small building discovered inside the complex of the Narita-san Shinshō-ji Temple. It drew my attention because it was standing out, differently colored from the rest of the temple’s buildings.
Its walls, painted all white, with black and golden decorations, are in full contrast with the red-vermillion dominant color of the surroundings… Obviously, I wanted to know why it was so different and I’ve been told that this is a modern, newly built hall, made in 2004 for the 1070th anniversary of the temple’s establishment. It enshrines a very special statue, the secret Buddha statue of the temple, Daisyo Kangiten.
