Night street scene in Namba, Osaka

Tue, August 23, 2016, by Muza-chan

After sunset, a walk on the streets around the Dotonbori channel can take you to a fantasy world, with fascinating buildings and exotic decorations…

The glowing red character in the photo is an oni, a kind of demon from the Japanese folklore, and it is the mascot of the Akaoni ("Red ogre") restaurant, specialized in takoyaki dishes. The red and yellow building in the background, covered by wooden plaques and lit with chochin lanterns is also a restaurant called Yokozuna, specialized in kushikatsu.
