Located inside the castle town of Hirosaki-jō, the Ishiba residence was preserved as it was during the Edo Period, being a representative example of a merchant house of that era.
The only change was the type of goods sold here, because if in the past it was selling sundry goods, today it’s a liquor shop. Although it is a shop and it is also inhabited, the house can be visited in the most interesting rooms, such as the earthen area room photographed here.
