Once the symbol of Japan’s capital, located in the middle of the most important commercial venue of the Edo city, the Nihonbashi bridge was the starting point for all the roads connecting Edo with the main cities.
The today’s Nihonbashi bridge was built in the Meiji era. The replica of the old Edo period bridge photographed here was reconstructed inside the Kyoto Toei Uzumasa Eigamura, where many period movies and samurai dramas are filmed.
