Places of Scenic Beauty, Hiroshima Shukkeien

Designed to be the quintessence of Japanese garden art, the Shukkeien in Hiroshima is one of the gardens registered on the List of Places of Scenic Beauty of Japan. Shukkeien is a delightful collection of small scenic views built around a calm pond, featuring pavilions, bridges, islands, and even a small mountain covered by trees and bamboo groves…

It has its place among my favorite Japanese gardens as I loved taking a break in the pavilion at the shore, where, as you can see in the photo, the landscape is charming…
