Sanjusangen-do, the longest wooden structure in Japan

Thu, March 30, 2017, by Muza-chan

There are two wooden buildings in Kyoto registered in the record books: Tō-ji, the tallest pagoda in Japan (57 meters tall) and Sanjūsangen-dō, the longest wooden structure in Japan, with a length of 120 meters and a width of 22 meters..

In terms of total surface, Sanjūsangen-dō, photographed here, comes quite close to the largest wooden structure in the world, which is the Daibutsuden of Todaiji, in Nara, which has a length of 57 meters and a width of 50 meters.
