Shukkei-en garden bridges

Sat, June 2, 2018, by Muza-chan

Reconstructed after the original design in 1951, the Shukkei-en garden in Hiroshima is representative for a garden owned by a feudal lord from the Edo period.

One of its main attractions is the series of 3 narrow arched bridges photographed here, connecting the shore with two small islands. The pavilion with thatched roof in the background adds to the scenic beauty, making it one of the most beautiful garden spots in Japan.
