Simply beautiful Japanese scenes, Matsue castle walls

Wed, February 17, 2016, by Muza-chan

The Japanese castle builders tried to combine utility with beauty, hence most of the constructions which were part of a Japanese castle were built to be strong but also attractive, and even the walls were powerful but made of carefully selected and combined stones.

This turret of the Matsue castle illustrates their effort, nicely reflected on the castle’s defensive moat… Simply beautiful!
