For me, a good travel photo is one that shares not only the beauty of a place, but also the feelings experienced in that moment… And for that to happen, sometimes the photo must be a bit different (read “better") than the reality. But the camera by itself can’t do that: you need the perfect light and the perfect atmospheric conditions to produce the desired shades and highlights…
In Ponto-cho, one of the most crowded narrow streets in Kyoto, I managed to take the photo I wanted only after four years of visits, on a rainy winter night… It’s simply a beautiful place…
