Soribashi Japanese garden bridge

The Japanese promenade gardens are usually featuring streams and ponds, with one or more islands connected by stone or wooden bridges. Most bridges are built in the style known as soribashi, “arched bridge". Photographed here is one of them, made of wood, with a very simple design yet perfectly integrated in the landscape…
