One of the main temples in Tokyo is the Gokoku-ji Temple, built in 1681 by the Shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi for his mother, Keishoin.
The temple is located in Bunkyo-ku and is visible in this photo taken from the Sunshine City Observatory. You can see, in the middle of the green area, the main building, and to the left, the two-storied pagoda.
The skyscraper in the middle, 115.8 meters tall, is the head office of Kodansha, the largest Japanese publisher, well known for its manga magazines Nakayoshi, Afternoon, Evening, and Weekly Shonen Magazine.
