The grounds surrounding the Tokyo Imperial Palace are very pleasant for a stroll, lots of green areas and many opportunities for photos. Sometimes I photograph birds, other times the reflections appearing on the water surface of the moat.
One of my favorite areas is the one from this picture, on the northern side, over the Ushigafuchi moat, near the main entrance to the Yasukuni Shrine. The unusual building on the left is the National Showa Memorial Museum, also known as Showa-Kan and on the back, with brown walls and pointed roof you can see the Kudan Kaikan, a former Military Officer’s Club, today used as a hotel:
