Zuihoden Mausoleum gate

Tue, September 24, 2019, by Muza-chan

Built in a wonderful location, a hill covered with tall trees, the Zuihoden Mausoleum is the resting place of the Sendai lord Date Masamune. The complex of buildings includes the gate photographed here and the mausoleum, both lavishly ornate, lacquered black and decorated with gold leaf.
