As I wrote before, Tsumago is one of the best preserved traditional towns in Japan, due to the efforts made by its citizens. It is such a friendly place that even some inhabited homes, which aren’t museums, are opened to visitors, like this house built in the 19th century, owned by the Kumagai family, with a door open allowing visitors to admire the traditional interior.
