The Hōryū-ji complex in Nara is divided in two areas, an older one including the temple’s main hall and the 5 stories pagoda, which are the oldest wooden buildings in the world, and a newer area including the Yumedono (Hall of Visions), the hexagonal building in the background of the photo.
Besides these zones, one of the most pleasant places in Hōryū-ji is the stone paved alley connecting the two areas, lined on one side by an old wall…
