Happy Birthday, Doraemon!

Wed, September 3, 2014, by Muza-chan

Today is the birthday of Doraemon, one of the most-loved anime characters of all time in Japan. In case you don’t know him, Doraemon is a cute robot cat, the central character of the manga and anime series with the same name.

Of course, calculating the age of Doraemon is a bit paradoxical, because Doraemon comes from the future… And actually it is not a birthday, it’s a… fabrication date. But to summarize, Doraemon was made on September 3rd, 2112, and its birthday, written in the Japanese format 12/9/3, was “encoded” in several of his characteristics. So, Doraemon weights 129.3 kilograms, he is 129.3 cm tall, he can reach the maximum speed of 129.3 km/h (but only when his scared) and he can jump 129.3 meters (again, only when threatened). His maximum power is 129.3 hp, his circumference is 129.3 cm, and the diameter of his feet is… 129.3 mm! (^_^)

As I was saying, in Japan Doraemon is one of the most popular anime characters, and on my journeys I found him in a lot of places… Of course, I never missed to chance to photograph him, so here’s my collection of Doraemon statue, figures and arcade machines.

There is also a huge number of Doraemon toys and Doraemon branded products. Of course, I bought some:
