Traditional Japanese toys, sweets and crackers are sold on the Nakamise-dori since 300 years ago, when the local merchants received from the Tokugawa Shogunate the right to establish a commercial alley in front of the Senso-ji Temple.

This is one of the oldest commercial streets from Japan and even if today the shops are modernized, it is still representative for the traditional Japanese goods sold here… like the red boxes from my photo, shaped like a Japanese lantern and filled with delicious kaminari-okoshi - my favorite Japanese traditional sweets… (^_^).
