Kobuntei clover room, Hagi-no-ma

Wed, June 28, 2017, by Muza-chan

Kobuntei is a house built by the lord Nariaki Tokugawa inside the Kairaku-en garden in Mito, and its main attraction is the collection of rooms decorated with paintings of flowers representing seasons.

For autumn, besides the momiji (maple) room, the second symbol is the bush clover (hagi in Japanese). In Japan, hagi is associated with melancholy and unrequited love, but it is also a symbol of life and growth, because the bush clover grows very fast.
