Sofuku-ji is the only temple in Nagasaki present on the List of National Treasures of Japan, and it is registered with two buildings dating from the beginning of the Edo Period. They are unique to Japan, being first built in Ningbo, China, then disassembled and rebuilt in Nagasaki. Photographed here is one of them, a beautiful four-legged Chinese style gate, named Daiippo-mon, “First Peak Gate".
