Security Guards in Japan

Tue, May 17, 2011, by Muza-chan

During festivals or holidays, the shrines, temples or streets are often stormed by crowds of people. Of course, to ensure the safety, many policemen and security guards are employed… Always wearing uniforms, they manage somehow to distance themselves from the exuberance and to remain focused and attentive to everything around.

And talking about uniforms, the coolest guardians I ever saw were the ones seen during the first days of the year (during Hatsumode), at the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine in Kamakura.
