Senbei, traditional Japanese rice crackers

Sun, January 15, 2012, by Muza-chan

I don’t eat many sweets when I’m traveling in Japan (except for the matcha ice-cream), but I always want to have something to chew… And from the many delicacies available, some of my favorites are the senbei, traditional Japanese rice crackers.

There is a great variety of senbei in Japan, in various shapes, sizes and flavors… but my favorite is the simple salty version, brushed with soy sauce and the ones wrapped in nori.
You can find some of the best senbei crackers in the traditional shops from tourist areas but they are also available in convenience stores (conbini).
