I love architecture and I love that in Japan I can enjoy masterpieces from all periods. Regarding the modern architecture, my favorites are the buildings from the Metabolist movement. Here is one of them, the National Art Center from Roppongi Hills, Tokyo, created by Kisho Kurokawa, architect best known for its outstanding Nakagin Capsule Tower.
I was especially impressed by the spectacular glass facade, undulated so that nothing is symmetrical or repetitive… A surface inspired by the nature and at the same time integrated with the nature, like a giant glass wave, in perfect harmony with the nearby trees, intentionally planted very close…
